Thank you for your contribution. You've taken a huge step to making Povo the "word on the street,"
and we appreciate it very much. Because of the complexity of the "wiki text" and code that can be used
on Povo, in order to edit this section in the future you must click the "edit" button to the right of the section
heading (or for the whole page).
The Behan is a local - meaning a pub serving the locality. It's a bar, they serve alcohol. If you want food, you can bring something in with you. Plastered with Irish theater posters (some works by Ireland's own Brendan Behan), there's a single bartender, and a faithful crowd of locals. Trivia contests on Tuesday nights and the game on the telly. Not a big place, but huge on the atmosphere.
A recipient of "Best Tattoo Shop" from various publications, people come from near and far for an appointment with the artists at Pumpkin Tattoo. Minimum price is $80 but the folks here are very experienced and very, very good at what they do.
Hours: Mon-Sat 10am-10pm, Sun 12-8pm
Yummy, pupusas. What are they you ask? A Salvadoran (or Central American technically) taste treat. It's a thick corn tortilla stuffed with any number of things. You can have pork, beans, chicken or cheese (or a combo) and they also serve empanadas and burritos. It's a little local place, so don't expect instantaneous service or anything. This is food crafted with love. But it is always cheap and delicious. There are a few seats (10 or so) but it's mostly take out.
One recommendation is to get a few pupusas and head into the Behan of an evening. Joy comes to Hyde Square.
Graffiti is a place for quick notes. Know the hours of a business but not sure where to put it? Did something just happen at this place? Leave some graffiti.
Sometimes street view does not point exactly to the right place. You may need to "drive around" a bit.
