Thank you for your contribution. You've taken a huge step to making Povo the "word on the street,"
and we appreciate it very much. Because of the complexity of the "wiki text" and code that can be used
on Povo, in order to edit this section in the future you must click the "edit" button to the right of the section
heading (or for the whole page).
Every neighborhood in Boston needs a local package store and here is the one in Hyde Square. Good supply of beer, wine and other alcohols and very handy location.
Well, it's got a reputation for being a greasy, hole in the wall (no pun intended). But if you are leaving the Behan or Milky Way after closing time, you can stumble in for some semi-authentic Chinese food that will make you quite happy (you inebriated person you!)
Monday through Friday 1:00 pm-11:00 pm
Saturday and Sunday 11:00 am-11:00 pm
An independent video store - recently relocated into a larger space. They have a large selection of independent and cult movies. In fact, their mission is to make a concerted effort to stock titles not found in mainstream video stores. But they do have all the new releases too. Knowledgeable staff can always help you find what you need or offer up a suggestion.
Thursday free film screenings. With free beer. Free. Beer. Be nice and supply the $5 donation because you will get (1) movie and more than (1) beer. A fair steal, that is.
This is the newest place in Hyde Square - taking over the old Video Underground space (they're a few doors down now). These folks are serious about espresso. According to the JP Gazette, they are the only place in New England to use a Clover machine (it's wicked fancy and expensive). Velouria serves Terroir brand coffee (Mass-based and free-trade). There are baked goods to go along with your coffee and free wi-fi too.
Hours: Monday-Friday 7am -8pm, Saturday and Sunday 9am -4pm
Graffiti is a place for quick notes. Know the hours of a business but not sure where to put it? Did something just happen at this place? Leave some graffiti.
Sometimes street view does not point exactly to the right place. You may need to "drive around" a bit.
