Coffee Shop
Just in case you don't want to go down to the Dunkins on the next block (the one with the parking lot) - stop in at this one conveniently located within Store 24. JP doesn't really do franchises (as a rule), but Dunkin Donuts is part of the psyche of Bostonians so it doesn't count.
This place is just close to perfect. You can go in for a burrito, wrap or salad for lunch or dinner on the go. It's built with a large counter for take-out. The interior though is so friendly and welcoming you might decide to stay and dine-in.
The Veggie Taco Salad is the best way to grab a quick, delicious dinner and yet eat super well and healthy - just the right balance of pico de gallo, cheese, black beans, carrots, tortilla chips and that tangy lime dressing. With a Cabo Cooler it is sublime. All the wraps and burritos are good too. And the soups are great. Try the posole or the chili and you will not be disappointed.
On the weekend, "the PC" does breakfast. Suggestion - huevos rancheros wrap, yum! But available, sadly only Saturday & Sunday between 10:00am and 2:00pm.
And if that isn't enough there are an array of fantastic smoothies at the Purple Cactus too.

Wonder Spice Cafe
Cuisine:
Thai
Parking:
yes
This neighborhood restaurant serves up fantastic Thai food and does a booming takeout business too.
The family that runs Wonder Spice is always bustling around the place and they are really friendly. It's a testament that the original restaurant was a very small space mainly taken up but the open kitchen (the area where you walk in was it!) Then they took over the area next door when it went vacant and expanded seating dramatically - and still you'll wait for a table at peak dinner hours. They have outdoor seating out back in the warmer months too.
Check out the specials - the "pine nuts" one is a real winner. It's been on the special menu for years and I hope it stays there forever. The beer and wine selection is small but well-chosen and your always sure to see someone you know as all of JP eats here from time to time.

This Bank of America occupies a little brick building that just looks like a bank. Always bustling, particularly on Saturday mornings. There is a parking lot out back for use of the customers and a drive-up ATM also.
Fire Opal relocated into this larger space on Centre Street and now offers even more amazing handcrafted items. There is jewelry, pottery, clothing, art, and so much more. It's a place where you can just wander around and look for hours and be awed by the creativity in the world. It's a great spot to pick up the perfect present for someone who loves beauty.

Gadgets is a great LITTLE shop. It is stuffed to the gills with everything you need for a well-appointed kitchen. It has great items for gift giving as well. Serious foodies can come in for the finest cookware and those who just need a new dish towel will be happy too. The staff consistently get top honors for being helpful and friendly in the "Best Of" polls. This shop never lets you down, although finding things amongst all the thousands of items can be challenging - if you want something specific it's best to just ask. But the most fun thing at Gadgets is just looking around at all the amazing stuff that is for sale here. You can never be disappointed.
Not just a local bookstore with a very large selection, but a multicultural bookstore that celebrates the diversity of its community. There are great cards as well as books on every topic. Jamaicaway hosts a weekly jazz jam on Sundays, in its downstairs room as well as other events - author readings, talks and lectures.

Graffiti is a place for quick notes. Know the hours of a business but not sure where to put it? Did something just happen at this place? Leave some graffiti.
