Pondside
Pondside is the neighborhood beside the Jamaica Pond. It is bordered by the Jamaicaway and the Pond, Centre Street and Perkins Street. It includes some older houses dating back to JP's colonial era, but it is mainly filled with lovely Victorian homes. The early nineteenth century was the era when Pondside was a "summer neighborhood". Folks from downtown Boston would come out to take advantage of the cool breezes off the pond.
